Book 6: "Normal People" by Sally Rooney

I was really excited to read this, but as soon as I started the first page it immediately lost me with the lack of quotation marks. Why not use quotation marks?!?

I decided to continue to give it a chance since reviews were so good, but still didn't love it. The story line was decent, but really nothing special to me. It really just felt like a normal ordinary story where nothing happened.

I didn't feel like the characters showed any growth throughout and the relationship between Marianne and Connell seemed so toxic to me. At first it was the exciting will they/won't they stay together, but then the endless back and forth and miscommunication between the two made me lose all hope.

I'm really disappointed that I didn't enjoy it more, maybe I'll have to give Conversations with Friends by Sally Rooney a try? Let me know what you think below!
