"Malibu Rising" by Taylor Jenkins Reid Review

Book 29: Malibu Rising by @tjenkinsreid

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I'm going to start by saying I'm an absolute TJR stan, from now on anything that she writes I will immediately read. I love her writing style and the way she develops her characters, I find that she gives them so much humanity making them feel so raw & real. Malibu Rising follows the lives of the Riva siblings who are the children of Mick Riva (one of Evelyn Hugo's husbands!). It's a story about love, loss, & resilience, it's emotional but at the same time very entertaining.

👍 This book is beautifully written and has a bit of a connection to The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo! The characters are well developed making them feel extremely authentic.

👎 The only thing I didn't love about this was how many different peoples stories we got during the party, it got a bit confusing and I really only cared about what was going on with the Riva siblings!

Recommend? 100% yes! I think this definitely lives up to the hype and would recommend! I would say though, if you're looking for your first TJR read I would still recommend The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo over Malibu Rising though!
